It´s a boy !
The baby was delivered at 16:24 BST at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, west London, weighing 8lb 6oz.
The palace said in a statement that the duchess and the baby were "doing well". She and Prince William will remain in the hospital overnight.
The news has been displayed on an easel in the forecourt of Buckingham Palace in line with tradition.

Royal baby on the way : Duchess of Cambridge in Labour
The Duchess
of Cambridge has gone into labour . The
mother-to-be will give birth at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary's
Hospital in London - where Diana, Princess of
Wales gave birth to both of her sons.
The Duchess travelled to the hospital from Kensington Palace
with the Duke of
Cambridge this morning and police are now stationed outside the
entrance. According to a spokesperson on behalf of the couple,
"things are progressing as normal".
"During her stay at the hospital, the Duchess is being cared for
by an expert team," a representative from St Mary's hospital told
the BBC today. "It goes without saying that the whole trust are
exceptionally proud that they have chosen to have their baby
here."
